Attendance/Participation:
- May be withdrawn for absences (WA) with 5 absences
Homework:
- Collected at the start of each class
- Show work for credit; solutions must be written independently
- Solutions available on Canvas after due date
- No late work accepted (not even for athletes, illness, etc.)
- Early work is accepted, can be delivered or emailed
- Lowest two grades dropped to compensate for not accepting late work
Exams:
- Three in-class exams, see schedule
- Open-book group quiz (counts as HW grade) before each test
- Comprehensive final exam, check Registrar's schedule for date and time
- No makeup exams, final exam score may substitute for missed exam/lowest score
Grades:
- Three Exams: 42%
- Final Exam: 20%
- Homework/Quiz: 27% (lowest 2 dropped)
- Participation: 10% (default grade is 8/10)
- Free Point: 1% (any extra credit will be credited here)
- D (60-69) is minimally passing, C (70-79) is average, B (80-89) is good, A (90-100) is exceptional
- Grades within 2.5 points of a cutoff (90, 80) will be considered for +/-. A+ is reserved for consistently outstanding work.
